MOUNT VERNON — Preparing for a special event can be a daunting task and one that becomes even more intimidating when the site is a park area. Honey Run Waterfall and Honey Run Highlands, with a scenic waterfall, imposing rock formations, acres of forest and miles of trails, will be the site of a Fire and Ice Luminary event on Dec. 10.

The event will be at Honey Run Waterfall from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a bonfire and holiday treats. No flashlights will be needed, as luminaries will light people’s path to the waterfalls and across the bridge and across a second bridge to the Kokosing River.
