FREDERICKTOWN — On Friday night, the Fredericktown Freddies’ dynamic duo of center Emily Williams and point guard Macy Earnest proved to be too much for the Ridgedale Rockets.

Williams scored 24 points and pulled down a total of 17 rebounds for a league-leading total of 105 grabs for the season as the Freddies blasted the Rockets, 48-31, in a battle for second place in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Blue Division.

“We just try to come out strong in every game,” said Williams, who had 14 points in the first quarter. “You can’t slack off.”

Earnest had six assists to bring her season total to 28.

“We just put a lot of practice in,” said Earnest, “We practice getting it to other people and sharing the ball. Our motto is, ‘Together,’ and that’s how we play. Every practice, we run our offense and we keep running through it until we get better.”

Earnest fed Williams three times in the first quarter and dropped in a baseline jumper of her own. That helped the Freddies stay close with the Rockets, who led after the opening quarter, 17-16.
