DANVILLE — The Danville Blue Devils are one step closer to securing their third straight playoff spot.
The Blue Devils swarmed the Lucas Cubs in Friday’s home Mid-Buckeye Conference clash, shutting down their powerful offense and walking away with a 41-0 victory.
Ridge Durbin was — once again — the center of the Danville offensive juggernaut. Durbin threw for four touchdown passes and ran in another, without turning the ball over. He completed 19 of 30 passes for 245 yards, and was the Blue Devils’ leading rusher with 60 yards on 12 carries.
It took a few minutes for Durbin to get warmed up — his first two passes fell incomplete and Danville went three-and-out on its first drive — but he started rolling on the next drive with a 44-yard touchdown strike to Kenton Mickley.
