WEST LAFAYETTE — Maybe it was a case of the freshman jitters.
Whatever the case, Danville golf sensation Brayden Baldridge fell three strokes shy of qualifying for the OHSAA Division III state golf tournament. Baldridge carded a 78 at River Greens Golf Course on Wednesday — well off his average which, according to golf coach Pat Mickley, is around par.
Baldridge’s struggles began early. He bogeyed the first hole and double-bogeyed the second. His first three shots on the par-5 No. 3 were true, landing him close to the hole. But Baldridge three-putted for another bogey.
By the end of No. 5, he was 6-over.
