DANVILLE — The Danville offense has been clicking lately.
The Blue Devils have scored more than 50 points in two straight weeks. Friday, they will need another big performance from the offense as Coshocton rolls into town for the Mount Vernon News/Killbuck Savings Bank Game of the Week.
The Redskins (1-3) rolled up 67 points last Friday in a 67-0 pasting of Zanesville Rosecrans. They took advantage of several Bishops’ turnovers and ran the ball well in picking up the huge win.
“Coshocton has always been a typical run-oriented team. But this year they changed from a wing-T to a shotgun with two backs. They still are primarily a running team, though,” said Danville coach Ed Honabarger. “They have some nice skilled athletes and some big linemen. We want to shut down the running game the best we can.”
Junior quarterback Dom Johns (5-foot-6, 180) leads the way for the Redskins, but they also count heavily on running back Chase Ashcraft (5-8, 170). They are not afraid to throw the ball, though, and look to Cody Williams (6-2, 185) when they need to get the ball downfield.
