FREDERICKTOWN — Pending school board approval at its meeting Sept. 10, Nathan Bellman will become the next head coach for the boys basketball program at Fredericktown.
He was the varsity assistant for girls basketball at Fredericktown last year, helping the team to a 21-5 record. Before that, Bellman served as head women’s basketball coach at Ohio Dominican University, and has assistant basketball coaching experience at Indiana Wesleyan, Wright State and University of the Cumberlands, women’s basketball, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University, men’s basketball.
“The interview team was impressed with Mr. Bellman’s coaching credentials as well as his overall philosophy in developing student-athletes,” said Fredericktown High School Athletic Director Randy Endsley. “As a community member, he has observed our teams and our program and knows where we can improve.”
Bellman told the News he is looking forward to getting rolling with the boys basketball program: The season starts with tryouts on Nov. 1.
