MOUNT VERNON — The 1992 and 1993 Mount Vernon High School boys basketball teams were the last teams to give Mount Vernon a district title.
Twenty years later, several members of the team were reunited, but not to play basketball.
Dave Moore, the head coach of those winning teams, arrived at the MVHS Class of 1993’s 20th reunion to stir up memories and relive good times.
“It has been over 10 years since I last saw him,” Luke Magee said. “It was a pleasant surprise when I first saw him at the reunion. He was an excellent ball coach who got the best out of every single player he coached. He may have been a great coach, but he is an even better person.”
