HOWARD — The Loudonville Redbirds put together four solid quarters of basketball, and didn’t look like a 1-11 team that was winless in the Mid-Buckeye Conference going into Friday night.
The East Knox Bulldogs (5-10, 2-6 MBC), for their part, didn’t look like a young and improved team on the rise.
The Redbirds (2-11, 1-7 MBC) dominated on the offensive boards as they defeated the Bulldogs, 45-35, to gain their first MBC win of the season and their second win in a row.
Lifted by six offensive rebounds in the first half, the Redbirds took a 12-6 lead in the first quarter. The Bulldogs shot 1-for-9 from the floor in the first quarter and were 13-for-50 for the game. Bobby Cornwell (four points) made the lone field goal for the Bulldogs in the opening quarter.
