HOWARD — East Knox’s defense and special teams produced big plays when needed on Friday night, and the Bulldogs earned a shutout of visiting Northridge, 20-0.
East Knox (4-2, 2-1) ran only 39 plays for the game, including 197 yards on 31 carries. Zach Hill replaced Cody Howard at the quarterback spot, and came through with a 4-of-5 night for 36 yards and a touchdown. Hill was also only one of three Bulldogs to run with the ball. Mason Lyon ran for 117 yards on only 11 carries, and Hill rushed 11 times for 52 yards and a score.
The Vikings (3-3, 1-2) got their customary 102 yards from Jacob Burke, but quarterback Bryant Garee was pressured all night by the East Knox defense. Garee was sacked four times for 12 yards, lost 25 yards on six rushing attempts and threw three interceptions.
