COLUMBUS — Speed kills, as East Knox found out the hard way against Bishop Hartley on Friday night. Two Bishops running backs combined for 303 yards and five touchdowns in its 50-6 nonconference victory.
Hartley (3-0) did all its damage in the first half, scoring 22 points in the first quarter and 28 points in the second quarter before letting reserves take over for the second half. Marcellus Calhoun ran 14 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns, and Juwaan Woodley, a University of Toledo recruit, added 12 carries for 146 yards and a pair of scores.
The Bishops had 16 first downs to just six for the Bulldogs (2-1), and held East Knox to 130 total yards while gaining 528. Mason Lyon scored the only touchdown for the Bulldogs in the third quarter, and finished with 16 carries for 80 yards.
