HOWARD — In its fourth year of existence, the East Knox Bulldogs are starting to turn a few heads on the soccer field.
East Knox ran its record to 2-0 with Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat of River Valley at home.
The fireworks started early. Senior Kirk Moss started off the scoring just minutes into the first half with a goal, which was quickly matched by River Valley.
The Bulldogs (2-0) took control due to the nature of their play. They rely on ball control, using quick passes and playing keep-away with the other team.
For the first 20 minutes of Wednesday’s game, it worked. Moss was tackled as he entered the box, and a penalty kick was awarded. Lucas Hopkins scored to give East Knox a 2-1 lead.
