Mount Vernon City Council approves full-time recreation director's pay

The Mount Vernon City Council has established the base salary for a full-time recreation director at $55,000 per year.

According to the minutes of the Mount Vernon City Council's April 8 meeting, the appointed recreation director will be responsible for providing necessary supervision and direction for the city's recreational assets.

The same document also indicates that the position is eligible for annual longevity raises. These commence at $400 for the first five years, increase to $500 in the sixth year, $550 in the seventh year, $600 in the eighth year, $650 in the ninth year, and reach $700 annually from the tenth year onwards.

As stated in the minutes of their April 8 meeting, Mount Vernon City Council notes that as an exempt employee, it is expected that the recreation director will work as required, including outside normal business hours, to fulfill their duties.
